NOTAM: New regulations set regarding single-engine taxi
TO: BLUWAVE AIRLINES FLIGHT CREWS
FROM: BLUWAVE AIRLINES DISPATCH CENTER
Attention all bluWave Airlines flight crews:
As of THURSDAY, 01MAR2012 at 00:00 PT, bluWave Airlines flight crews will be expected to taxi via single-engine taxi procedures whenever possible when deemed safe during the operation of any Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
Recently, Operations has learned that pilots have not been utilizing these procedures when they have been possible and haven’t presented harm to anyone onboard the aircraft or within its vicinity. The airline would like to reiterate to flight crews that by commencing a single-engine taxi, the airline saves 15 lbs/min of fuel while at 30% N1 and 30 lbs/min while at 20% N1.
For further instruction on single-engine taxi procedures, please refer to the Training Department located at 79 E Diablo Ave (west of the maintenance hangar near SIERRA @ HOTEL at KLAS).This message has been approved by the bluWave Airlines Operations Center and will take effect on 01MAR2012 at 00:00 PT.
